136b Mule Train 3 [edit] [delete] Admin
First there is the sound of the howling and then the stranger bursts across the path shouting at you in a strange language. He is so fast that, even as Callum lunges after him, he is off and running again, out of your sight on the other side of the trail. Quickly Kerim instructs his troop, bringing them all back into a defensive circle. Well they would have been but the plan falls down, because Selina won't take her place and pushes towards the front of the circle and Meeleek is unsure of quite where we should stand. That minor squabbling makes it take just that little bit too long. The dogs howl again, and then suddenly 3 large dogs, with huge heads and shoulders appear out of the scrub, towing a long a large doghead at the end of their leases. A couple of seconds later another two dogheads appear behind him, as if following the path the dogs lead. All three dogheads are wearing pieces of chain mail armour and are armed with large spiked clubs. Taken aback by your presence, the stop and stare open mouthed for a second or two before yipping excitedly to each other.

Peter finds his appointed place on the flank of the party, and hangs onto the halters of the mules to try and keep them in order. Pulled closer to the middle as the mules tug at their ropes, Peter is jostled slightly by Selina as she moves forwrd. Scowling at her, he mutters somethig that sounds suspiciously like ".. foolish woman ... get us all killed ..." He scowls even more deeply as she appears to tryaand throw a dagger at the intruders, but doesn't have the strength to do much more than toss it gently in the air .. "Ach ..." he says softly in exasperation.

With a huge grin, Callum leaps forwards, swinging his sword up to speed. Evaluating the dogs as the bigger threat, Callum rushes forward and swipes at the nearest one with his sword.
