130 going, going ....

Yuri cancels his flaming sphere , although the fire he has started still continues to grow and the last of the dogheads in that area of entanglement screams itself to deathly silence. As he runs towards Rolf's calls for assistance, he realises that Rolf is nor in the path, but still in the bushes further along the track. Corellon and Rolf, meanwhile, drop their melee weapons and ready their bows. It takes a moment for each of them to do so, and they each get one arrow off towards the retreating dogheads. Corellons appears to strike the leader, but is deflected away at an unusual angle, while Rolf's arrow is aimed towards one of Alhevro's body guards. The arrow strikes the monster's shoulder and lodges there, but apparently the wound is not deep, because it merely stumbles slightly before continuing its flight. Mandrake joins Rolf and Corellon, but Instead of drawing a bow incants, and suddenly from out of the still rising mists a harsh voice speaks, saying " Humpwit bosna. Humpwit na reela maka ek Scapaz comma Birdna" This strange shouting elicits a hard look from Alhevro towards one of his guards, but does nothing more than encourage all four of them to break into a trot …. Ravn and Elsbeth Catch Yuri's eye as he runs past, and for just a moment it appears that Ravn is about to strike Elsbeth - but suddenly he sinks to the floor exhausted, and Elsbeth bends over him to call down the blessing of the Celtic gods. Over by the put, Meeleek and Kerim are desperately trying to help Callum from his perch on his dagger - but nothing they do seems to have any positive effect at the moment. The lizard advances slowly its long tongue lust licking out to caress the air and eventually Callum's leg … Peter sits back as he sees Selina stop writhing, and try to sit up. Out of the corner of his eye he notices the Mules moving still … Edgar suddenly swoops from the sky and makes a grab at Alhevro's metal bars, managing to grab one in his talons. Surprised, Alhevro releases the metal wand - only for Edgar to realise that the two are linked by a short length of chain. The combines weight of the two rods is too much for the bird to carry in flight, and after a couple of wings beats he releases them and allows them to drop to the floor … Still the mist rises, rapidly hiding the now fleeing dogheads, from everyone but Edgar, who can see them run off into the distance

Damn magic

Corellon Amastacia

"Watch this for me," Corellon calls out quietly to the others in front of him, tossing up his bow. Sliding his short sword smoothly into his hands, he circles around the bushes to his right, and keeps going until he is at an advantageous angle, and then beelines for the leader, hoping to get a possible back attack while him and his guards are distracted by Rolf and the others.

Thwarted

Kerim Alakani

Kerim, thwarted in his attempts to save the brave, and possibly suicidal, Callum curses vehemently. "By the many sons of whores of the south, Callum if you wish not to escape then at least stand aside while we can impale it on a spit ready for the roasting" Seeing the creature strike out at Callum's foot Kerim makes a rash slide down/let himself down into the pit at the rear of the lizard depending on the slope of the walls. He will then attack it while it's distracted gnawing on Callum. Just before he goes he spares a quick look at Rolf and the fleeing Dogmen, shaking his head ruefully. GM: Not sure how long this will take but it seems worthwile so I will do it. Callum may well have killed it by then but maybe not. I have rolled two attack rolls and damage in case you adjudicate that I can attack. I didn't roll damage as it might be medium or large size.

Resignation

Mandrake

Mandrake shrugs his shoulders, resigned to the fact that there is nothing further that he can do to prevent Alhevro's escape. Instead he turns and heads due east to the dead doghead, then south from there and around to the other bodies. Stopping at each corpse he makes sure that they are that, and not still living, then searches the remains. As he gets to the charred remains he is horrified that anyone could do such a thing, even to a mortal enemy.

A last attempt

Rolf

Rolf slowly turns to keep the bead of his arrow on what he deems to be the center of the cloud and let's fly with two more arrows, his attempt meant to strike the injured doghead but happy if he hits anything under the circumstances. Seeing little purpose to chasing down the enemy while injured and on their home ground, Rolf waits several moments to make sure the dogheads aren't just circling about. OOC: Rolled at -4 for not being able to see. To Hit 1: 3 Damage 1: 2 To Hit 2: 5 Damage 2: 6

Every which way but loose

Edgar

Almost pulled from the skies by the unexpected weight of the rods, Edgar quickly releases his grip and flaps his wings frantically to gain height, wary of a repeat of the cast of a stone that injured him before ... and as the whistle of all but blindly loosed arrows he is spurred to even greater efforts to vacate the immediate area, with no more thought to the fleeing dogheads.

Ahhh...

Ravn Ashengrey

Ravn looks up at the chanting druid - there is relief in his eyes as his blood pressure drops and the emerging pain from his wounds is remarkably soothed at Elsbeth's gentle touch and the gentle sensation of her healing powers, tickling his skin and warming his entire body. When she finishes her harmonious yet strange hymn, he forces a thankful smile onto his dry lips. "Gentle to behold and of gentle voice I knew Thee to be, fair Elsbeth, and it would have been only reasonable to assume such gentleness in your touch. Still, I dared not dream of such grace lest the notion of it tear my heart in twain." He gazes into her deep green eyes, oblivious to the sounds of the ebbing battle around them. "But I suspect it was the powers of the past - neither those of the present nor of the future - that warmed my heart so, for I feel it fading now with the lingering echo of Thy chant. Still, I am grateful for Thy concern - I thank Thee." Slowly, shaken by something deeper than the receding berserkergang, the Runecaster rises to overlook the bloody field of slaughter around him.....

Not the reaction she expected

Elsbeth

Unprepared for such gentle words, Elsbeth blushes, her freckles standing out as she turns bright red. She only meets Ravn's gaze for a moment, then looks away. "I... I only thought to help ye," she stammers. "Ye were hurtin' and I was unable to do more for ye. But you are most welcome," she manages.

Hesitant

Laddie

The great wolf hesitates, looking over his shoulder to where his mistress went. He looks ahead and only sees where Rolf fires. Laddie whines, unsure what to do next...

Sticks and stones

Meeleek El'Wakhad

Unable to do anything else, Meeleek starts pelting the lizard with sticks and stones from around the pit, trying to get its attention far from Callum.
