101 Cleared

101 Cleared by Admin

The party are now gathered together again in the kitchen entrance hall. Even Edgar has returned from his exploration of the nest.

Nothing disturbs you as you stand around considering how handy Rolf, Callum, Ravn and Madelyn are with a large chunk of wood ...

Yep .... by Peter Gasgano

Peter has a look around the small room as requested by Rolf.

"As I thought, it's the spice cupboard. I'm not sure if the wines and brandy will still be OK, but I can see that just about everything else is too old to be of any use. Although some of these spices still have a remnant of their flavour." He holds a handful of dust up to his nose and breathes it in, then suddenly he sneezes loudly and looks sheepish.

"Are you leaving the wines and spirits here as well as the soup tureens?" he asks Rolf.

I suppose.... by Rolf

At Peter's question, Rolf shrugs. "I don't have any better place to put the stuff and I don't want to lug them around. We can always claim them before leaving." He stops and looks at the others with a stern eye, "And I'd best not find those bottles any lighter tomorrow." He smiles, the first in quite some time, to take the sting from his words.

So ... by Peter Gasgano

Peter just shrugs with a smile. "So what next?" he asks, "The other building?"

Next! by Callum mac Aonghas

"Callum agrees with Peter. "Aye, lets be about the next building." He shoulders the timber. "I'll just be bringing this along for any more doors."

Watch out! by Madelyn

Madelyn ducks out of the way as Callum hefts the timber onto his shoulder, and nods in agreement at them moving on.

One more to go by Rolf

"Aye," Rolf says in response to Peter's question. Seeing Madelyn duck and the timber now having a clear path at him, Rolf leans back to avoid it. Leading the others back out into the open, he heads for the three towered building.

Falling in by Madelyn

Madelyn falls into step beside Rolf, he eyes scanning the area as they head over to the other building

In line by Kerim

Kerim doesn't bother inspecting the room, taking for granted the many peoples opinions whom have already viewed it.

When everyone tires of the room he examines a soup terine.

GM: Is it solid silver?? Easy to bend? If so then perhaps it is the best we are to find here.

Toureens by Admin

yes they are solid silver :)

Details of the next building tomorrow.

Next, please! by Ravn Ashengrey

Ravn follows the others to investigate the next building.

Next by Admin

Mandrake and Yuri call out that they will take this guard slot, and make their way towards the stone block that Elsbeth and Ravn had sat on earlier.

The rest of you follow Rolf towards the triangular building, taking care to avoid the occasionally dangerous end of Callum's battering ram, as it swings around on his shoulder.

When you get there you ascend the couple of steps up to the door and try it. It is, unsurprisingly, locked shut.

Still wondering why by Elsbeth

Elsbeth follows, having not bothered to go upstairs once the battering ram idea had gone into effect.

"Are we to be spending our lives looking into each wee place?" she whispers, shaking her head.

Curious eye by Kerim

Kerim eyes Elsbeth with a sense of opportunity. Normally not a party to her discussions he makes it his duty to try to get to know her better.

Unfortunatley he knows little indeed of Elsbeth other than her concern for Rolf, a passionate past-time he himself is unmoved by (can't imagine why?). Indeed his life as a sailor has left him greatly unknowning of women, save those who languish in ports, or others ranking as his caged peers back in Angasa.

Fortunately for him he is easily clever enough to see that Elsbeth is neither the cheap tawdry purveyor of manly pleasures nor the type that is kept on a pedestal, a trophy commodity to be traded at profit through marriage by their uncaring parents.

With caution Kerim falls back on a subject he is familiar with and he guages is relevant to Elsbeth's recent comments.

Picking up the turines (however you spell that) he nods to Elsbeth "Much would I say in agreement with your comments lady." - holding up the soup bowls as evidence - "Few indeed are the rewards one wins in their labours. No great craftsmans hand was present when these were made. Lucky we are though that they were inclined to make them silver through and through."

Kerim gives Elsbeth what he hopes is an encouraging smile.

Conversation by Elsbeth

Elsbeth smiles, her eyes twinkling in merriment. "At least one of us has found fortune this day!" she replies softly. "I'm not meanin' disrespect to our leader, but I fear I tire of poking and prodding, searching dusty room after room." She sighs. "I'm a girl of the woods, not one to feel at home in ruins."

Not out of the woods yet (?) by Edgar

Edgar nods his agreement at Elsbeth's words. "I feel the folk that abandoned these dwellings had the right idea," he says, "though perhaps the decision was made for them ..."

"Still," he continues, "this is a duty laid upon the Constable and us by Earl Richard, and so we must persevere."
