83 Oi! Locksmith .... |
Err -- not me. |
"Not something that was in my education, I'm afraid." Says Peter with a slight frown. |
Bet Callum's got a key |
Rolf shrugs as none admit to knowing the ways of locks. "So much for saving the lock." he mutters. Moving aside, he makes a grand gesture to Callum with a hint of amusement behind his words, "If you would be so good, master Callum." He gestures at the door, but then quickly comes on guard, ready to battle whatever might be in need of slaying beyond. |
Hold your horses |
"I'm coming, I'm coming" calls Mandrake as his little legs carry him up the stairs. |
Grrr .... |
Seeing the small two legs approaching and trying to get to his mistress, Laddie jumps up onto the bottom step, bares his teeth, and growls a warning at him. |
Anyone got a bone? |
Having followed Madelyn towards the steps Yuri witnesses Laddies foul temper first hand. |
Ok, just ... ... |
Laddie's ears go down and he sidles across next to Yuri, allowing Mandrake to pass, but there is a small growl from deep in his throat as the Gnome passes. |
Woofers and Tweeters |
Edgar glares at Laddie in admonishment, going so far as to loose a caaaark of disapproval ... from the safety of his perch atop Mandrake's shoulder, of course ! |
Goo' boy |
Yuri strokes the back of the wolf's head while he digs out some food for positive reinforcement. |
Yip |
Laddie lets out a quiet yip as he settles by Yuri's feet and takes whatever tidbit is offered him. |
Summons |
Kerim excuses himself of Zhiri's company "I hear that I may be of service inside, a different service than what I can offer here that is. Make sure you keep the door ready to cover yourself should the sirens mate arrive." |
The door ... |
Kerim finds no traps on the door and manages to unlock it fairly easily. |
Time to explore again |
As Kerim retreats back down the stairs, Rolf nods to Callum. "Get ready." he warns both Callum and Elsbeth. Holding the sword ready, Rolf pushes the door wide. |
More wreckage |
As the door swings open, light pours into the dim corridor. |
Ready- still |
Elsbeth stands with her weapon drawn. "I'm being right behind ye," she tells Rolf in a whisper. |
What's in the nest? |
Rolf steps through the doorway, blade raised high. Taking his cue from Elsbeth, Rolf steps forward. Moving slowly, he tries to get a good look at what's in the nest. |
The slow advance ... |
Moving slowly is not a broblem, although you get the impression that faster movement might be a problem as there is that much debris around. |
Fact Finding Mission |
Rolf looks about the place, trying to see if there is any visible reason not to move up next to the nest. |
investigating ... |
Rolf looks around the area and doesn't see any threats, but as he approachs the nest the squealing noises get slightly louder. |
Be my guest |
Mandrake is more than happy to let Kerim past him and up the stairs, and instead returns to investigate the room downstairs which he has just opened. |
external door ... |
It was the outside door that Mandrake opened. See the map on the website www.galinia.org.uk |
Not so silent witness |
Edgar wants more than anything to leave the room, but he forces himself to stay. Alighting from Madrake's shoulder, as the gnome hurries back downstairs, he flutters in the air for a moment, wisely deciding against making a new perch upon Rolf, Elsbeth or (the gods forfend Callum), lest he hinder their movements. |
The study of a nest |
Holding the fletching in place, Rolf side steps an arms reach aside. Slowly rising up, he peeks over the edge of the nest and looks inside. |
In the Nest |
The nest is, as you imagined, the shape of a large bowl. The outside is made from a mixture of broken furniture, bits of tree and anything else you can imagine. |
A Fledgling Dilemma |
Turning his attention back to his companions, Rolf stands easy and lets the arrow drop. "Be calm, there is no danger. Elsbeth, this is more your field. What do you recommend?" |
relief ... |
Peter stands quietly, but obviously relaxes when Rolf calls the stand down. |
