You now have the animals under control again. Peter and Kerim have collected the Mules together and Yuri has calmed Laddie down. The wolf has stopped growling but is still cowers and now stays close to Yuri. You have restored a semblance of order as you collect back near the camp fire to decide on your actions.... |

Peter nod's at Kerim's suggestion, "You're right, we can't go hunting for them in the middle of the night - we will never find them like that, and will probably lose the mules as well .... And as to what that was - I have no idea at all ....?" |

"Well, if we're not going to search for them, I'm going back to bed!" and Herloch rests himself, back against a tree. "I'm with that guy there," pointing to Peter, "I don't know who he was. But, I did recognize him as a powerful warrior similar to myself. He didn't look like a follower of Thor, though." Herloch closes his eyes but continues to speak, "Actually, I thought about joining them myself, and would have had I not seen Elsbeth and the gnome bolting off after them. The sight of them tramping off to join a hunt just left me speechless. When I regained my senses, well, it was too late." "Good night." |

"Night", Yuri replies to Herloch, having already decided to wait up. Yuri sits back down with his gear now that the animals have settled down, absent mindedly giving Laddie some of the leftover meat as he looks out into the night, watching and waiting... "What happened?", he eventually asks Madelyn when (and if) she comes back. |

Madelyn heads slowly back to the camp, and settles Keldon and Elsbeth’s horse. Once they have calmed down, she stokes the fire, and wrapping her blanket round her shoulders sits down taking in the fires warmth. "What happened?" "I’m not sure", she replies, looking off in the direction that they disappeared. "They were too fast, and as we reached the edge of the swamp, they continued, as if the murky water didn’t even bother them!" Looking up at Peter, Madelyn says, "I agree too Peter, I think we should wait until morning, there is little we can do in this light, and you never know, they may have returned by then. Does anyone have any idea what that was? The pull ….. the pull was so strong?" |

Seeing Herloch fall asleep, he suggests Peter & Madelyn also try to get some sleep. Seeing that Yuri has the look of someone not ready for sleep "I'll keep you company, I won't be able to get any sleep either. With luck, we'll sort this out in the morning." With that, he makes sure the rest of the camp is tidy, the animals secure & the fire built up to last the night. He is silent, alert, but staring at the fire, obviously planning for the worst. He scans the perimeter of the camp at regular periods, trying to see if anything is there. He listens for anything that might indicate where the rest of the party are. |
