53b Back at the Camp

By JohnB

Yuri, Kerim, Peter, Herloch, Madelyn

Madelyn turns and runs after the pack, but they are moving so fast she cant catch them. When the pack reach the edge of the swamp and start running across the top of it she realises that she can't keep pace with them - or even follow the route they have taken. For a second or two she stands at the edge of the swamp, armour half secured, watching her companions disappear into the distance…..

Kerim and Peter are starting to quiet the horse and mules - but one mule has broken its picket pore and is starting to wander aimlessly - its panic subsiding as the hunt disappears and it is no longer secured ….

Laddie continues to growl and cower, for a while turning his bad temper towards Yuri, but settles to whining and whimpering when he realises that Yuri intends no harm Laddie is obviously upset that he has lost his new mistress and his new friend both at the same time ….

Herloch stands watching, mouth open, as the hunt disappears into the distance ….

Disbelief

By David
who plays Kerim

Looking round in disbelief, he notices the mule & hurries to recover it. Having recovered & re-tethered it, he checks the rest of the animals.

He looks at everyone else, starts to speak, but not knowing what to say, turns back to the animals in silence.

In the shattered peace of the night, he stands by the mules and does a 360 degree sweep of the camp, and the surrounding swamp, looking for further danger.

Let's go find them.

By Joe
who plays Herloch

"Do you think we should go after them?" Herloch says after a long while of staring off into the horizon. He starts to laugh and says, "Did you guys see Elsbeth sprint off like some kind of forest hunter? That was hilarious! Oh well, I guess we'll have to go save them. All in a day's work for a follower of Thor!"

Herloch gathers his gear and sets off to find them, hoping to follow some tracks. He spots Madelyn at the edge of the swamp. "Well missy, where'd they go?"

Animals...

By jase
who plays Yuri

"C'mon then", Yuri tells Laddie, "let's go get this stray mule. What's your name then?", he asks the wolf as he (presumably) follows him, hoping someone else will answer the question, there can't be TWO talking animals!

Yuri spares a few worried looks in the direction everyone vanished as he walks, but he makes sure his voice oozes confidence and comfort for Laddie.

Confusion

By Sharon
who plays Madelyn

Madelyn slows to a stop, looking off into the distance where the party disappeared. A very confused look on her face, she turns as Herloch approaches:

"Well missy, where’d they go?"

"I don’t know", she replies with a note of uncertainty, "I couldn’t keep up, and there doesn’t seem to be any tracks to follow" she says gesturing towards the ground.

With a glance back towards camp she says, "I guess we should get together and decide what to do, half of me wants to follow, but the other half says to wait here until they return". With a shrug of her shoulders, she drags her foot from out of the mud and heads back towards camp.

Mules ...

By Ian
who plays Peter

Peter stands holding mules and horses wondering what is going on. His education, so far, certainly didn't prepare him for incorporeal hounds and disappearing comrades ....

Suggestion

By David
who plays Kerim

Hearing Madelyn's news, Kerim suggests staying at the camp site until morning. "There's no sense in rushing off into the swamp in the middle of the nignt, if we've no idea which way to go"

"Jesse didn't seem too unhappy about joing the pack, has anyone any idea what happened?"
