57b Leaving ...

By JohnB

Herloch heads away along the path, Yuri a few steps after him ...

Peter and Kerim struggle to get the mules moving, and to take Elsbeth's horse in tow, as they follow on. The mules having taken longer to pack now they bear all the gear left behind by the other party members as well.

Laddie whimpers a couple of times, and walks around in circles, before deciding to follow Yuri. He is, clearly, not a happy puppy ....

Madelyn sits on Keldon, a slightly unhappy look on her face, as if unsure what to do ....

OOC - Sorry if this seems slow - but it gets the two groups back in Sync ....

Why walk ...

After a little thought Peter mounts Elsbeth's horse and bends done to take the lead rein of the donkey, leaving the mules to Kerim.

He then follows along, comfortably, behind Yuri.

Onward!

Herloch looks back and sees the others falling farther behind him. He shouts back to Kerim and Madelyn, who are finishing up with the animals, "Come on, let's pick up the pace!"

Turing to Yuri and Peter he says, "We'll find our companions soon. Thor wouldn't let the friends of one his priests to come to harm. Well, if nothing else, he'd make sure they died a glorious death during battle."

The priest of Thor picks up his pace, a proud leader to his followers.

Off Again

Glad that Herloch has taken the decision, Kerim will follow him. The mules are packed and the goods belonging to the rest of the party are distributed amongst the mules evenly.

"Mules march at their own pace, You'd do best to match their speed" he replies to Herloch.

Ignoring the request to pick up the pace, he'll check everything is secure and start to follow Herloch.

Watching him stride out, Kerim can only think that there are times when caution is a good thing. But, bowing to the inevitable, he follows anyway.

"Peter, seeing that you're on horse back, you can see a little further than the rest of us. Keep a good lookout will you.".
