56b Following on

By JohnB

It does not take long to breakfast and break camp and you are ready to set off. An initial scouting does show some tracks, that all of you can see fairly clearly, leading towards the swamp - but before you have gone far the tracks get lighter and lighter and then disappear. Without any hesitation Madelyn can follow her own tracks to the edge of the swamp, when she followed the hunt and her comrades, but they stop at the point where she stopped trying to run into the swamp.

There is no other sign to follow ….

OOC: Yes coffee exists - but it is an imported luxury and expensive, and you party doesn't have any in its supplies

Taking the lead, Herloch

"Hmmm....." Herloch thinks aloud, bending down and examining the tracks leading straight into the swamp.

"Clearly we will have to go around." The priest of Thor looks to both sides and picks the one that in his mind seems the shorter distance.

He turns to address the group. "It seems to me that Rolf was your leader and in his absence we will need new leadership. I would be honored to take up the role. Therefore, without further delay, let's go."

Herloch turns and heads off, starting to circumnavigate the swamp in the direction he chose.

Oh for some coffee

Yuri belatedly replies to Herloch, "I learnt wherever I could, but most was from the Gypsies", his voice saddening at the end.

Later he smiles when Herloch appoints himself leader. "Well then, lead on leader", he tells Herloch.

Follow your leader!

as the hunt headed northeast....

Herloch continues to march off in the direction of the trail, away from Mistation, fully expecting the others to follow his lead.

North

Yuri quietly follows Herloch when he continues on, but stops when Herloch turns around.

"I'm not worried about if they're alive and happily sitting in Mistation drinking ale, I'm worried about if they're wounded or in need of help on the other side of this swap. We should continue on."

Away from Mistation we go.

"Right, of course," Herloch says to Yuri and marches off in the direction of the trail, travelling further away from Mistation.

Travelling beside Yuri he says, "Don't worry, Yuri, soon we will find those dogheads who brought such injustice upon you. Then we shall have glorious revenge." His eyes gleam with those words, as if relishing the thought of combat.
