it still continues its headlong charge away from the party.
It disappears behind a clump of bushes, making it
practically impossible to get another shot at it.Mandrake falls
to the ground and Madelyn and Peter, run over
towards him. Madelyn gets there first and starts looking
for signs of life. Shortly after she gets there Mandrake
starts moving again, although there is a confused and
slightly vacant look in his eyes. Keldon and Elsbeth's
horse stand quietly cropping the grass and scrub.Callum takes a
mighty swing at the surrendering doghead, but
turns his wrists at the last moment, and catches the doghead
with the flat of his blade across the temple. The doghead
is lifted from his feet and falls still and silent to the
ground a couple of feet on.As Elsbeth continues to speak with the wolf, it edges
further forward until it's snout rests almost on her feet.
The tail wags sporadically.

Mandrake's down....

By Brad
who plays Rolf

Hearing the shouts of the others, Rolf notices the prone Mandrake. "Smilo, you tie it
up." He motions at the unconscious doghead. Giving the impression of being hyper-
alert, he moves over to the crowd about Mandrake. "What happened?" he demands
urgently, "Was he attacked?" He keeps his eyes glancing about the area, trying to
figure out if some hidden attacker is responsible for Mandrakes swoon.

Under control

By lechrist
who plays Elsbeth

"Elsbeth," Rolf says softly, "Do you have the wolf under control?"
Elsbeth smiles, putting a hand slowly and firmly forward to scratch the wolf's ears.
"Oh yes, he's bonny now," she replies, her voice still calm and soft. "He just had the
wrong company, I think." She doesn't notice as Rolf leaves to see to Mandrake, still
scratching the Wolf. Dogheaded beasties and bloody combat is new to her. This
creature of the wild calms her soul as much as her spell calmed the wolf itself.

I'm ok

By Daren
who plays Mandrake

"Who, what… No, it is not another attacker, it was a spell from the one that ran, I
think that we offended him in some way."
Mandrake chuckles rather half-heartedly and looks about him in the direction that the
doghead ran.
"I suggest that if it comes back then we should not be around. If it does come back
I’m sure it won’t be alone!"
OOC: Well, that’s it for this week, I’m off for a weekend in the Cotswolds walking
and partaking of a few drinks. Celebrating (?) getting another year older and uglier ;-)

Loot

By Jim
who plays Smilo Hairfoot

"We got a haul alright," replied the smiling hobbit, opening his sack for Rolf to see, "a
belt buckle and earring, made of silver it looks like, some bone rings and a rock
painted like an eye."
He looks around. "Anyone hurt? No. Good. Spose will have to bury that poor fellow,
Aenis ere. Funny name at, Aenis, eh? No worse an Ramsbottom. I knew a
Ramsbottom once. Anyone know im enough to say anything?"

He's OK, then?

By Ian
who plays Peter

Peter gets to Mandrake just as he starts coming round, but Madelyn beat him to it.
He kneels down and looks across to Madelyn asking, "He's OK, then?" and then
grins in relief at Mandrakes response.

Time to clean up!

By Sharon
who plays Madelyn

Madelyn turns to Peter, "He's fine, and certainately no worse for the spellcraft!". She
makes sure that Mandrake is back on his feet OK, and looks around at the carnage.
She slowly walks over to Rolf "In the absense of priest's, I am able to perform a
burial for Aenis, but what do you want to do about these dogheads. I think it would
be unwise to leave them out here in the open"

Words

By lechrist
who plays Elsbeth

"Spose will have to bury that poor fellow, Aenis ere," the halfling said. "Funny
name at, Aenis, eh? No worse an Ramsbottom. I knew a Ramsbottom once.
Anyone know im enough to say anything?"

At Smilo's words, Elsbeth puts a hand to her mouth in dismay. "May the Gods forgive
me," she whispers. Looking at the wolf, she gently tells it that she will not be far
away, then stands.
Moving quickly, Elsbeth kneels down next to the fallen Aenis, her eyes sad. Leaning
close, she begins whispering in the dead man's ear, speaking softly in her native
tongue. Her hand holds the sprig of mistletoe she wears about her neck and a tear
falls from her face as she continues.
Her words don't seem to a prayer...

Assignments

By Brad
who plays Rolf

Seeing that Mandrake is okay, Rolf gives his attention over to Smilo. "Good job," he
says in response to the haul, though he sees little there worth worrying with. As Smilo
continues, Rolf nods, "Yes, Aenis must be tended to in the ways of my people.
Listening to the input from the others, Rolf deliberates for a brief moment. "Okay,
here's what we're going to do. Callum, you and I will hide these dogheads in the
bushes. Kerim, make room on the pack animals for Aenis. Peter, you help him with
that. Mandrake, pick up some of the weapons and stuff from the fallen and bring them
with us. Smilo, your on watch and Elsbeth, you and your new friend see to our
guest," he motions at the unconscious doghead, "And keep an eye on the wolf, we
don't want him turning on us." He pauses and moves over to Madelyn. Putting a hand
on her shoulder in a sign of comradery, he asks softly, "Madelyn, please see to
Aenis."
Taking a look around to ensure that he hasn't overlooked anyone, he jerks his head at
Callum and moves off to the nearest doghead body. Grabbing it's shoulders, he drags
it to the nearest set of bushes.

Cleaning Up

By David
who plays Kerim

Kerim will ensure that the mules are secure, looking at the place the fleeing doghead
disappeared and curse under his breath. If there are no further attacks, he will leave
Smilo to tie up the prisoner.
He will then start gathering the bodies of the dead wolves and dogheads together
(unless someone stops him). If any of them have anything worth trading (weapons,
etc) he will take it and pile by the mules.
"Any ideas on disposing of these things" indicating the dead dogheads and wolves -
He'll ask.
"Does anyone know what religion Aenis favoured?" He'll ask.
