Both Madelyn and Mandake drew arms and prepared to chase, but both realised that they would not catch the doghead. Madelyn eturned to calming Keldon, Madrake took aim and let loose a sling bullet that flew past the doghead without causing damage. Rolf released a second arrow, which flew off to one side. As Elsbeth tell her horse to wait Peter approaches and offers to hold the reigns for her. She approaches the entangled wolf and starts talking softly to it. Smilo draws a dagger and turns to face the entangled wolf and doghead. Callum finishes his headlong charge across the clearing, finishing up at the side of the entangling bushes. The bushes seem to shrink back into themselves, and release the doghead and wolf. The wolf slinks belly down towards Elsbeth, and stops five feet away, belly and muzzle to the floor, twitching its tail and making small yipping noises. The doghead raises it arms and stands still. The fleeing doghead looks over his shoulder and calls "Kikbuk" to Mandrake -- and Mandrake crumples slowly to the floor. OOC1: Entangle last for a maximum of 1 turn. It can be dispelled before that time OOC2: Next post will be Thursday evening. (See previous post) OOC3: There is a piece on experience on the web site. (See previous post) |

Fleeing Gnoll |
|
Smilo runs to the left, whips his sling around at lets fly a lead shot... OOC: Rolled a 19 for the attack on the gnoll at Ar for 1 point! OOC: The experience seems fine. If I have to miss a move or two during the week, that's OK. |

Elsbeth glances up momentarily. "You might be thinkin' of taking that one prisoner, Callum," she states softly. "Else he'll run on you. Though I be thinkin' he's not going anywhere without his friend here." So saying, she returns her attention to the wolf before her, meeting its eyes, holding its gaze. As another wolf would to one it protects yet expects to submit, so she acts toward the wolf. "So, you do believe me, do you?" she says softly in her tongue. "I promised and I delivered. Stay with me and I'll see you fed. And being with me would be doing better than with your friend there." Even speaking, she keeps eye contact until the wolf lowers his own eyes. |
|
Callum snarls at the Doghead. "You're lucky the druid girl's wantin' ye alive, beast!" He swings the flat of his blade around to connect with the dogheads temple, being careful not to accidentally deliver a killing blow. OOC:21 to hit, 12 (subdual) damage. Once he is sure that the Doghead is unconscious, Callum wanders around the area, collecting the heads of the Dogheads which he personally killed. |

OOC: I'm making some assumptions here. First, I assume the fleeing doghead (A,r) with the bars has made good it's escape. If it's still within range, Rolf will try a shot. Second, I assume that Callum has knocked the other doghead (L/M,d) out cold. Third, I assume that Elsbeth has the wolf pacified. If any of these assumptions are wrong, it may delay Rolfs actions in this move. Rolf glares angerly at the retreating back of the fleeing doghead. Turning, he overlooks the battlefield. Rolf keeps the bow handy, but slips the arrow back into the quiver. He slowly spins, trying to see if any more surprises are likely. [Assuming he doesn't see anything...] He unstrings the bow yet again. Making sure the hilt of his sword is at hand, he looks at the wolf carefully. "Elsbeth," he says softly, "Do you have the wolf under control?" Moving onward, Rolf sees Callum removing heads from dead dogmen. He considers, but apparently decides against voicing his thoughts. "Mandrake, tie this one up." He motions at the prone doghead. He glances at the fallen wolves, wondering if any of the pelts are unspoiled enough to claim. Shrugging it off as not of the moment, he moves on. "Smilo, what did you find among the fallen?" |

Peter sees Mandrake fall to the floor and start towards him, then checks slightly when Rolf calls for Mandrake to bind the doghead, and calls "He can't, He's down" to Rolf. Peter then continues over to Mandrake, keeping a wary eye on the fleeing doghead. |

Madelyn runs over to Mandrake, and bends down to find a pulse. OOC: Does she find anything? |
