A Description Of Arriving At Farfobest
The trail continues uphill and a couple of hours before twilight you first spot Farfobest. There are two towers that seem to be growing out of a cliff face connected by curtain walling. The wall contains a large double gate of metal studded wood. Almost immediately behind the wall is the face of the cliff. As you draw closer you can see there are windows and arrow slits carved into the face of the cliff over looking the wall.
As you approach the gates open and you are waved inside. There is a small courtyard and then another set of double doors leading directly into the cliff face, again you are waved inside. Inside the second gates is a large cavern, there is a single door leading from the left hand side with a sign over it. The sign shows a hammer on an anvil. There are double doors on the right, which are open and you can see ponies and mules stabled there. There is a further set of double doors in the wall facing you, one of which has a single door set in it. The single door is open but guarded by two dwarves in armour, who carry war hammers.
A couple of Dwarves, Gila and Dalak, who are somewhat taller than you would expect, bow and offer you accommodation at the Inn, The Hammers Rest. Your horses and mules will be stabled in the large stable opposite, there is a secure area in the stables where trade goods can be left.
For your evening meal you are offered either mushroom stew or tripe and mushroom stew and are served with a pale grey coloured beer. During the evening a number of Dwarves come in for a meal or a beer, and quite a convivial evening develops. One of the dwarves practice his party trick of singing two or three chorus songs, for which all the dwarves seem to know the chorus, and you as travelers are encouraged to join in and do your party tricks.
